From My Heart To Yours

“For You have been a defense for the helpless, a defense for the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat…” – Isaiah 25:4

Christmas, 2016

Dear Friends,

There is a warmth that envelopes us as thoughts of Christmas come to mind. In our excitement and anticipation, we find ourselves singing those famous Christmas lines, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”

Among the many images that come to mind is Mary and baby Jesus; a mother holding her newborn son in swaddling clothes providing a place of refuge in the midst of the chaos of a government census.

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Luke 2:7

At New Hope we provide a refuge for mother and child amid the storms and chaos of life. We reflect God’s truth and love to oftentimes scared, lonely, and confused women embracing the reality of an unplanned child. We come alongside her with the truth that baby Jesus is the Emmanuel, or “God with us,” who grew up to become her Savior. We provide her with tangible support in the context of a loving relationship.

Women testify time and again they feel loved when they walk through our doors, allowing us to reach almost 1000 women and families with God’s truth and compassion. This same love compelled us to speak to almost 3000 students last year with God’s life-affirming message through our Real Love Respects Abstinence Program, and allowed many women to view an Ultrasound image of their precious baby. Dozens of individuals came to trust Christ as Savior due to this same passion.

But we need to reach more women! They need to hear our call over the clamor of others who advocate a convenient but painful solution to their crisis.

Your gift this Christmas will help change the lives of countless others through the love of Christ. Thank you for making this enormous difference.

New Hope’s board and staff join me in wishing you a very merry Christmas!
For His Glory,
Martha J. Raub
